St Patrick was a gentleman
Who through strategy and stealth
Drove all the snakes from Ireland,
Here's a toasting to his health;
But not too many toastings
Lest you lose yourself and then
Forget the good St Patrick
And see all those snakes again.
St Patrick's Day always finds me longing for IRELAND!
I get real homesick for my cottage and my friends and the land
I long for a simple life like I led when I lived there.
I don't think I could live there permanently now but I do wish to return for holiday.
So on this Holy Day , I always take time to reflect , pray , and drink!
I wish I could run across the street and meet with my friends at the pub, but everyone is so Far Away
So on this St Patrick's day I wish you all the best of Irish Blessings and from my book of Irish Toasts:
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
Slow to make enemies,
Quick to make Friends,
But rich to poor , quick or slow,
May you know nothing
but happiness
From this day forward.
I leave you with this famous blessing:
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always
at your back
The sun shine warm upon your face
The rain fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow
of His hand.
Godspeed my friends!
